Universities – Partners in Canada’s Future
Carleton University and the University of Ottawa are pleased to host the 28th annual conference of the Canadian University Boards Association.
As we are all feeling the winter blahs, and the weather has forced us to stay indoors for a while now, the time has finally come to shed some of the thick layers of clothing, and join us in Ottawa for the 28th annual CUBA Conference. The Conference takes place from May 1st to 3rd, a time of year where Ottawa is waking up to greet all that is sunny, colourful, artistic and enjoyable.
Ottawa is the capital city against which all capitals should be measured. It is the hub of political action with the ever-imposing Parliament Hill and its historical buildings and architecture. The city is also fortunate to have many lofty tourist attractions which include the Canadian Museum of Nature, the National Aviation Museum, the Museum of Canadian History, and the lovely Rideau Canal that is likely to be surrounded by fresh, colourful tulips, as May 2nd is the opening of the Canadian Tulip Festival. On the other side of the Ottawa River, a stone’s throw away from downtown, we have the City of Gatineau with its proud Francophone history and culture.
The annual conference is a great opportunity for leaders of Canadian university Boards to meet and discuss the conference theme - Canadian Universities - Partners in Canada’s future with excellent speakers at a historic and magnificent hotel with visits to the two university campuses.
We hope you enjoy the conference!
