David Barnard, Dip.C.S., B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D.
David T. Barnard has been President and Vice-Chancellor of the University of Manitoba since July, 2008. Dr. Barnard holds BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in computer science from the University of Toronto and a DipCS in theological studies from Regent College, UBC. He has had a distinguished career as a computer scientist, graduate and undergraduate teacher and supervisor, and academic administrator, and served as President of the University of Regina from 1998-2005. Dr. Barnard has extensive experience serving on and chairing boards and committees, including the boards of the Bank of Canada and CANARIE, the Saskatchewan Provincial Court Commission, the Saskatchewan Arts Board, and the Saskatchewan Power Corporation. He currently chairs the Canadian Research Knowledge Network and is a member of several boards and foundations.
